With the temps in the 50s people were out and about all over the river today in search for a catch, even some hikers were enjoying the sunshine on this Presidents day weekend. Knowing that cold weather is around the corner we wanted to take advantage of this Sunday afternoon. However it turned into some lost flies and no catch for either of us, but we still had a great time soaking up the rays. On our way home we got a msg from a friend who was fishing just a little upstream from us who happened to catch two nice Rainbows today. Perhaps we went to far down stream…..

Chilly and Pleasant
I headed down towards the Nevada state line today hoping it would be a little warmer out. It was still brisk and a bit more windy when I finally got to my destination, however about my 6th cast I had one on and was like BOOYA!! anyways he ended up getting away and from that point on it was just me and the breeze for the rest of the day. Did i mention that my toes were also getting cold. All in all was a fun day out on the river but definitely looking forward to some warmer air coming in.
Its Lunker Time
Its a huge world out there
Lake Tahoe is a place of beauty and plenty of wildlife for the eyes to see. No matter what time of year it is you must get out there and enjoy everything it has to offer. From hiking to high alpine lakes to fish. To the clear waters of Tahoe, it doesn’t matter if you catch a lunker or not. The experience will be worth every minute.
cold front coming in
Winter fly fishing on the Truckee
Byan Blauvelt and Adam Mills have been out on the Truckee river this winter in search for some big browns and Rainbows. Has been a little slow but they are in there and will feed if thrown the proper fly. It has been warm out and on those days we get out there and just enjoy the beauty of the mountain streams this time of year.
Pat lee however has been tossing the wooly bugga and just keeps slaying some big Lunkers up in Idaho this winter
